We are recruiting for a full-time People Advisor, working 35 hours per week, on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

As a People Advisor in our Employee Relations and Change Team, you will play a crucial role in providing advisory services on various people related matters. You will be empowered to take a solution-focused and proactive approach, using evidence-based methods to provide valuable advice. From attendance to discipline, grievance handling, change management, and more, you will be a trusted resource for managers across the Society, assisting them in navigating these areas successfully with a people-centred approach.
By building strong relationships with stakeholders, you will support and coach leaders, ensuring the delivery of people objectives as well as maintaining highly effective and consistent People practices throughout the organisation. Your expertise and guidance will enable teams and directorates to align their strategies with their people, fostering success and growth.

About you
Joining us, you’ll be a pragmatic and credible HR professional, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build great relationships and deliver an excellent service. This is a fast-paced role where no two days are the same, which means your ability to manage a case load of employment relations matters, autonomously, will be key. You’ll have a solid background in all things ER and Change, understanding staff feedback, analysing data and metrics, and putting actions into practice. Plus, you’ll be able to multi-task, organise your time and move seamlessly from one task to another. You will be a trusted partner to colleagues across the Society offering a high quality, efficient and customer focused service. You will be able to prioritise your work, have a tactful, helpful and flexible approach. With the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle confidential people data in a professional manner. You’ll have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with good attention to detail. We are a proactive HR team that engages with colleagues and as such you will need to be confident, engaging and able to be build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels.
Crucially, will be qualified to CIPD Level 5 or working towards achieving qualification and able to demonstrate experience of working in a generalist HR role, with experience of handling complex and sensitive ER casework.
What you’ll focus on:
- Advising managers on employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, sickness and capability cases.
- Supporting transformation and change programmes including restructures, redundancy and TUPE.
- Provide risk-based advice, guidance and coaching to managers on following best practice, policies and procedures.
- Develop excellent working relationships with managers and help empower them to become great people managers.
- Delivering training sessions to upskill managers and promote HR best practice.
- Supporting HR projects, change initiatives, and data reporting.
